As a member of the Bergen County Cooperative Library System, the Mahwah Public Library is capable of offering the latest in library technology:

  • We offer 10 OPAC terminals (On-Line Public Access Catalog) for public use.
  • At least 2 - 3 terminals are dedicated to the Internet at all times.
  • We offer a LAN consisting of 4 terminals offering various applications.
  • We now offer wireless Internet to the public. Patrons do not have to register or be logged in to access the wireless Internet.

  • Patrons under the age of 18 must have a signed parental permission slip on file at the Reference Desk to use the Internet.
  • Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Four terminals in the Children's Department offer access to the OPAC and applications and games of interest to children. These terminals provide no Internet access.

Downloadable Audiobooks

The Mahwah Public Library now offers all BCCLS library card holders a computer station for free access to downloadable audiobooks. You will need a BCCLS library card to set up your free account, a compatible MP3 player, and a connecting port. At the computer station, patrons will have access to over 1300 titles with 400 titles added each month through Overdrive.
